The five-star "Baku Resort & Spa" hotel officially opened on July 31 on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the opening ceremony was attended by President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and First Lady Aigul Japarova, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and First Lady Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The hotel was constructed within the framework of an investment agreement signed in Bishkek in 2023 between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. Spanning over 17 hectares, the complex features 111 rooms and 10 cottages, designed to blend architecture, culture, and wellness. The resort aims to create 255 jobs in the initial phase, with a focus on promoting Azerbaijani culinary traditions and providing diverse recreational facilities, including swimming pools, an aquapark, and sports areas.

Located on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul—the world's second-largest alpine lake and a key natural landmark of Kyrgyzstan—the resort is expected to significantly contribute to the region's tourism sector. Surrounded by the Tian Shan mountains, the area is renowned for its mineral-rich waters and year-round tourism potential. The project serves as a testament to the strengthening ties and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
