Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in the capital today, significantly affecting the movement of vehicles.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has released data regarding the current situation on the city's main arteries.
According to the official statement, traffic density and congestion are currently observed in the following areas of Baku:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- 1st Gol Kenari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, towards the city center;
- Zarifa Aliyeva Street;
- Neftchilar Avenue, in the direction of the "Azneft" circle;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the intersection with Izmir Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the center;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street.
Traffic congestion in Baku is a frequent occurrence during peak hours, often exacerbated by the high volume of vehicles entering the capital from surrounding suburban areas and Sumgait. The Intelligent Transport Management Center continuously monitors these primary routes to regulate traffic flow and provide real-time updates to commuters in Azerbaijan. Drivers are advised to consider alternative routes where possible to avoid delays on these major thoroughfares.
