Traffic congestion reported on major roads in Baku

Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku, causing significant delays for commuters.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has released an update on the current traffic situation in the capital. The center noted that movement has been particularly restricted on the following routes:

  • Baku-Sumgait highway, towards "20 January" metro station;
  • Ali Mustafayev Street, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 1st Gol Kenari road, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the Baku Olympic Stadium to the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the Baku Olympic Stadium towards "20 January" metro station;
  • Ataturk Avenue, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from the intersection with Izmir Street towards "20 January" metro station;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
  • Azadlig Avenue, from the intersection with Salatin Asgarova Street to the intersection with Dilara Aliyeva Street;
  • Yusif Safarov Street, towards the city center;
  • Afiyaddin Jalilov Street, towards Yusif Safarov Street;
  • Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
  • 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Babek Avenue, towards the city center;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, towards the city center;
  • 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center;
  • Mikayil Mushfig Street, from "Badamdar" circle towards school-lyceum No. 20;
  • Matbuat Avenue, towards "Mikayil Mushfig" circle;
  • Neftchilar Avenue, towards "Azneft" circle.

Traffic congestion in Baku typically intensifies during peak morning and evening hours as residents commute to and from the city center. The Intelligent Transport Management Center in Azerbaijan continuously monitors the capital's road infrastructure using advanced surveillance and data analysis to provide real-time updates, helping to manage the flow of vehicles and minimize travel disruptions in the capital.
