Significant structural reforms are underway within the Baku City Executive Power, aimed at optimizing governance and enhancing operational efficiency across the capital.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to implement these administrative adjustments.

Under the new decree, several key departments will be reorganized to improve service delivery and management. Specifically, the Housing and Cooperative Economy Department, the Baku City Trade and Services Department, and the Heydar Mosque Administration will be restructured as entities directly under the authority of the Head of the Baku City Executive Power. This move is designed to streamline reporting lines and ensure more direct oversight of these vital municipal functions.

These reforms are part of a broader, ongoing initiative by the Azerbaijani government to modernize the public administration system. By optimizing the structure of local executive bodies, the state aims to improve the quality of public services provided to residents of Baku, ensuring that municipal management is more responsive, transparent, and aligned with the city's rapidly developing urban infrastructure.
