Entry to all stations of the Baku Metro has been temporarily restricted following a technical malfunction in the power supply system. The incident, which occurred at approximately 12:10 PM on the section between Ulduz and Narimanov stations, led to a suspension of train movements, particularly toward the Ahmadli direction.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Baku Metro CJSC is currently taking urgent measures to restore high-voltage power to the contact rails. "The operation of the metro is expected to be restored within the next hour. We apologize to passengers for the inconvenience and thank them for their understanding," the official statement said. The agency confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated from trains remaining in the tunnels, and no threat to the lives of staff or commuters was recorded.

The Baku Metro, which began operations in 1967, serves as the primary rapid transit system in the capital of Azerbaijan. It consists of three lines—Green, Red, and Purple—covering a total length of over 40 kilometers. Technical maintenance and modernization of the power infrastructure are ongoing priorities for the Baku Metro CJSC to ensure the safety and efficiency of public transportation in the city, which serves hundreds of thousands of daily commuters.
