Following reports of casualties and injuries among Azerbaijani citizens resulting from a drone attack on cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov, representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation were immediately dispatched to the region.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, consular staff are currently in the city of Yeysk. They are providing necessary consular support to the injured and rescued Azerbaijani citizens. The condition of the injured is reported as stable, with several individuals expected to be discharged from the hospital in the near future.
Search and rescue operations, conducted by the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation, are ongoing to identify the deceased and carry out other necessary procedures. Simultaneously, the embassy is facilitating documentation for the rescued citizens, including the issuance of return certificates and the organization of their repatriation to Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keeping the situation under special supervision and maintaining close coordination with the relevant agencies. Further information regarding the identities of the deceased and the repatriation of their remains will be provided to the public in due course.
