Today, the premiere of Giacomo Puccini's opera "Tosca" will take place at the Royal Opera House Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman, featuring a prominent Azerbaijani ensemble. The production features People's Artist of Azerbaijan Yusif Eyvazov in the lead role, accompanied by the symphony orchestra and choir of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

The Ministry of Culture informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that the performance marks a significant milestone for the international representation of Azerbaijan's national opera art. The cast includes Italian soprano Carmen Giannattasio as Floria Tosca, Yusif Eyvazov as Mario Cavaradossi, and renowned baritone Ambrogio Maestri as Baron Scarpia. Other soloists from the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater are also participating in various roles under the stage direction of Davide Livermore and the musical leadership of conductor Fabio Mastrangelo.

The Royal Opera House Muscat, which opened in 2011 at the initiative of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, is considered one of the leading cultural centers in the Middle East and the second-largest opera house in the Arab world. The participation of Azerbaijan's national opera school in such a prestigious venue demonstrates the country's creative potential and growing international prestige in the performing arts. This collaboration highlights the ongoing cultural exchange between Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman, further solidifying Baku's role as a regional hub for classical music and operatic excellence.
