Azerbaijan and Ukraine have signed six bilateral documents aimed at strengthening cooperation across various sectors during an official visit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the signings during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Zelenskyy emphasized security and the defense industry as the primary areas of focus for the new agreements. He noted that delegations from both nations will engage in comprehensive exchanges regarding the implementation of these documents.
"Regarding the sectors today, the number one area is security. In terms of growth in the defense industry, Ukraine has demonstrated its resilience arising from the conditions of war, and we wish to share our expert knowledge. Our experts are currently in Azerbaijan, providing support to their Azerbaijani colleagues. We will continue this partnership and move toward joint production," Zelenskyy stated.
The relationship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is characterized by a long-standing strategic partnership, particularly in energy, trade, and infrastructure. Azerbaijan has consistently supported Ukraine's territorial integrity and has provided significant humanitarian aid, including energy equipment and medical supplies, since the start of the conflict in Ukraine. This latest series of agreements marks a significant step in deepening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for industrial and technological collaboration between Baku and Kyiv.
