Azerbaijan and Armenia have reached an agreement to continue exploring opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. This significant step forward was finalized during a meeting between Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the leaders expressed satisfaction with the current progress of bilateral trade relations. Specifically, the parties highlighted the ongoing export of oil products from Azerbaijan to Armenia and the successful transit of grain and other essential commodities from third countries to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory.

The meeting underscores the growing economic dimension of the normalization process between the two South Caucasus nations. Following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, the opening of regional transport communications and the establishment of direct trade links are viewed as critical components for ensuring long-term stability and prosperity in the Garabagh region and the wider neighborhood. Both leaders noted that the citizens of both countries are beginning to witness the tangible benefits of peace through these renewed economic exchanges.
