President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have welcomed the mutual visits of civil society representatives from both countries and reached an agreement on the necessity of expanding confidence-building measures.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the leaders discussed the implementation of the TRIPP (Trans-Regional Infrastructure and Peace Project) and other regional connectivity initiatives during their meeting.
The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia reaffirmed their readiness to continue efforts toward further strengthening peace and stability between the two nations. They also agreed to maintain regular contacts to support the bilateral normalization process and ensure long-term regional security.
The normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia has gained significant momentum following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. These high-level discussions focus on border delimitation, the opening of regional transport communications, and the signing of a final peace treaty. The involvement of civil society and the implementation of infrastructure projects like TRIPP are viewed by international observers as critical steps in fostering mutual trust and economic integration in the South Caucasus.
