Rainy weather observed in parts of Azerbaijan

According to forecasters, unstable conditions are prevailing in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. Strong winds and rainfall have brought cooler weather.

Rainy weather has been observed in some parts of Azerbaijan.

The information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the National Hydrometeorological Service.

The service said that rainfall was intense and torrential in some areas. Up to 30 millimeters of rain was recorded in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, equal to 133% of the monthly norm.

Rainfall in the country's districts amounted to 23 millimeters in Khizi, 18 in Astara, 17 in Gobustan, 14 in Aghdam, 10 in Sabirabad, Lankaran and Shamakhi, 9 in Khaltan, Tartar and Lerik, 8 in Zardab, 7 in Kurdamir, 4 in Shirvan, 3 in Yardimli, and up to 2 millimeters in Gakh (Saribash), Khinalig, Guba and Goychay. Up to 1 millimeter was recorded in Jabrayil, Barda, Gusar, Gryz, Oghuz, Sheki (Kishchay), Bilasuvar, Naftalan, Balakan, Zagatala, Ganja, Goranboy, Dashkasan, Goygol, Yevlakh, Ordubad, Beylagan, Imishli, Shahdag and Shabran.

The windy weather observed across the country gradually weakened from the morning of September 8, with wind speeds reaching 8-13 meters per second.

Rainfall patterns in Azerbaijan vary considerably by region, particularly between the coastal Absheron Peninsula, the lowlands and the country's mountainous areas. Such measurements help meteorologists assess precipitation against monthly climate norms and monitor short-term weather changes.
