Weather conditions across Azerbaijan are expected to remain stable and dry over the coming days, according to the latest meteorological forecasts.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Gulshad Mammadova, director of the Forecasts Bureau at the National Hydrometeorological Service, has issued an advisory regarding a significant rise in temperatures.
According to the forecast, maximum temperatures between August 22 and 25 are expected to reach 33-38°C in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. In other regions of Azerbaijan, temperatures will range from 35-38°C, while some areas in the Central Aran region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic could see highs of 40-41°C.
This upcoming heatwave is characteristic of the peak summer season in Azerbaijan, a period often marked by high atmospheric pressure and dry air masses originating from southern latitudes. Health authorities typically advise citizens to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, stay hydrated, and limit strenuous physical activity to mitigate the risks associated with prolonged exposure to extreme heat.
