An Azerbaijani delegation has arrived in Armenia to participate in a bilateral roundtable discussion scheduled for February 13-14 as part of the "Peace Bridge" initiative. The visit marks a significant step in direct civil society engagement between the two nations following recent border stabilization efforts.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Armenian Council, the meeting will bring together representatives from the civil societies of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Notably, the Azerbaijani delegation entered Armenia by crossing through a section of the delimited and demarcated land border, having completed all necessary official procedures. The roundtable is expected to feature a broad group of participants from both sides, expanding beyond the core organizers of the initiative.
The "Peace Bridge" initiative aims to foster dialogue and build trust between the populations of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the post-conflict period. This visit occurs within the framework of ongoing efforts to normalize relations and implement the border delimitation process, which is a key component of the broader peace negotiations in the region. By utilizing the newly demarcated border crossing points, the delegation highlights the practical progress made in establishing official state boundaries between the two South Caucasus neighbors.
