New transit route from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan

A new shipment of goods is being transported from Russia to Armenia via transit through the territory of Azerbaijan.

According to Report, a freight train consisting of 39 wagons, carrying 2,725 tons of wheat, is being dispatched from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC toward the Boyuk Kasik border crossing.

This transit operation highlights the ongoing logistical cooperation facilitated by the existing transport infrastructure in the region. To date, significant volumes of cargo have been successfully transported from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijan, including over 44,000 tons of grain, approximately 9,000 tons of fertilizer, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67 tons of timber. Additionally, nearly 15,000 tons of diesel and approximately 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline have been exported via these transit routes.

The use of Azerbaijani transit corridors underscores the strategic importance of the country's transport and logistics network in facilitating regional trade and connectivity. Such transit operations are conducted in accordance with international logistics standards, further integrating the regional transport grid.
