Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov has met with Rebecca Neff, Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs, along with representatives from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told Operative Information Center-OMM that the discussions focused on the implementation of the Strategic Partnership Charter between the two nations. Key topics included cooperation in energy and trade, regional connectivity, and economic investment opportunities. The parties exchanged views on potential projects in transport, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, emphasizing the active participation of private sector representatives in these initiatives.
During the meeting, the officials highlighted Azerbaijan's pivotal role in regional energy security and the ongoing efforts to diversify trade routes via the Middle Corridor. The sides also reviewed the favorable business and investment climate in Azerbaijan and explored new avenues for establishing bilateral ties. This diplomatic engagement underscores the strategic importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), which serves as a vital link for trade between Europe and Asia, bypassing traditional northern routes.
