The National Hydrometeorology Service of Azerbaijan has issued a weather warning, forecasting intermittent precipitation across various regions of the country from June 12 to June 17.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the meteorological forecast indicates that rainfall will be intense in certain areas, accompanied by lightning and potential hail. Authorities have specifically noted that precipitation is expected to intensify in several mountainous and foothill regions.
Due to the anticipated weather conditions, officials have warned of a significant rise in water levels in rivers. There is a high probability of short-term flooding and mudflows in some mountain rivers, posing potential risks to local infrastructure and agriculture.
Azerbaijan's geography, characterized by its diverse mountainous terrain, often makes the country susceptible to flash floods during periods of heavy rainfall. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources regularly monitors these hydrological changes to mitigate potential damage and ensure public safety in vulnerable areas.
