Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has announced a new flight schedule for the Baku-Igdir-Baku route to provide passengers with alternative transport links to and from Nakhchivan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC released information regarding the upcoming flight operations.
According to the schedule, flights planned for March 6, 2026, are set to facilitate smoother transit for passengers traveling to the region. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 1.5 hours before the scheduled departure time and must carry either a valid foreign passport or a new-generation national identity card.
The airline noted that further updates will be shared with the public should any changes occur in the flight schedule. This initiative is part of Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to ensure uninterrupted and diverse transportation options for residents and visitors traveling to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which remains a strategic priority for the government in Baku.
The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exclave of Azerbaijan, relies heavily on air travel and transit through neighboring countries for its connection to the capital. By utilizing the Igdir airport in neighboring Turkiye, AZAL provides an essential logistical alternative that strengthens the regional transport network and ensures the mobility of Azerbaijani citizens under various operational conditions.
