Antoni Blinken: Avropa Ukraynaya ABŞ-dən çox maliyyə ayırıb

Former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has dismissed claims that European nations are "taking advantage" of the United States regarding aid to Ukraine, stating that European and other international partners have actually outspent Washington in their support for Kyiv.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Blinken made these remarks during an interview with the C-Span television network. He clarified that for every dollar the United States has invested in Ukraine, European countries and other global partners have contributed an additional $1.50.

"For every dollar we invested in Ukraine, Europeans and others added a dollar and a half. So the idea that they are just taking advantage of the situation around Ukraine is not true," Blinken emphasized. He further noted that a significant portion of American funds allocated for Ukraine support is actually spent within the United States, primarily directed toward the procurement of new weapon systems or the replenishment of military equipment sent to Kyiv.

Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, the distribution of the financial and military burden among Western allies has been a subject of significant international discussion. While the United States remains a leading provider of advanced military hardware, collective contributions from European Union institutions and individual member states have grown to encompass a vast range of financial, humanitarian, and security assistance. This collaborative effort is largely coordinated through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which includes approximately 50 nations committed to supporting the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
