American Airlines has announced plans to resume daily service to Venezuela once regulatory approvals and comprehensive security assessments are finalized. The move follows the recent US military operation that resulted in the removal of Nicolas Maduro from power.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that US President Donald Trump, following discussions with the country's interim president Delcy Rodriguez, has instructed the Department of Transportation to lift long-standing restrictions on direct flights. The head of state emphasized that Americans will soon be able to travel to Venezuela safely.

US President Donald Trump stated that the restoration of air links marks a significant step in normalizing bilateral relations and ensuring regional stability.

American Airlines suspended its Venezuelan routes in 2019 following a US government ban. Company officials stated that the resumption of service will open new channels for business, leisure, and humanitarian travel. However, the commencement of flights remains subject to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety audits, which could take several months to complete.

The restoration of aviation links is viewed as a critical component of the broader reconstruction efforts in Venezuela. Historically, the Caracas-Miami route was one of the most profitable for American Airlines in the region. The normalization of air travel is expected to facilitate international aid delivery and support the economic transition overseen by the interim administration in coordination with Washington.
