The US military has launched a series of airstrikes targeting various regions within Iran. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, US forces conducted operations overnight across central and southern Iran, striking locations in Isfahan and Shiraz, as well as areas including Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Lengeh, Sirik, and Abadan.

Washington has stated that the primary objective of these operations is to degrade Iran's military capabilities near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global energy supplies. Iranian officials have reported that no casualties occurred as a result of the strikes, though assessments of material damage at the targeted sites are ongoing, with further details expected to be released shortly.

In response, Iranian authorities announced the commencement of the 24th wave of the "Nasr 2" operation. Reports indicate that this counter-operation involved missile and drone strikes targeting US military bases located in Bahrain and Kuwait. The US side has not yet provided detailed information regarding the impact of these retaliatory attacks.

The escalation marks a significant intensification in the long-standing geopolitical friction between Washington and Tehran. Tensions in the Middle East have historically fluctuated based on regional proxy conflicts, nuclear program negotiations, and the security of international shipping lanes, with both nations frequently engaging in strategic posturing to assert their influence in the region.
