ABŞ-Rusiya münasibətləri ilə bağlı yeni müzakirələr başlayıb

New discussions are underway in the United States regarding potential steps to restore bilateral relations with Russia and reduce ongoing geopolitical tensions.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, these points were highlighted in an article by American international relations expert Luke Nicastro, published in The American Conservative.

Nicastro argues that the primary strategic objective of the United States regarding Russia should not be the escalation of confrontation, but rather the prevention of conflict and the assurance of global stability. The expert emphasized that the U.S. National Security Strategy identifies the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and the restoration of "strategic stability" as key priorities.

Furthermore, Nicastro noted that the U.S. military presence in Europe remains a significant factor contributing to friction with Moscow. In his view, military activities in the region exacerbate Russian concerns and deepen the lack of trust between the two powers.

Concurrently, the potential reduction of the U.S. military contingent in Europe has surfaced as a topic of discussion. Reports indicate that while Washington intends to maintain its obligations within NATO, it is increasingly planning to pivot its strategic focus toward the Asia-Pacific region, particularly concerning challenges posed by China. On May 27, reports circulated regarding a decision to reduce the number of U.S. military forces stationed in Europe.

The debate over U.S.-Russia relations is a longstanding element of American foreign policy discourse. Relations between Washington and Moscow have been strained for years, particularly following the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, leading to significant shifts in global security architecture and NATO's strategic posture in Europe.
