Possible military strikes by the United States against Iran could lead to an uncontrollable escalation of risks and severe consequences for the global economy.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing political analyst Malek Dudakov, that any attempt by Washington to seize Iranian oil tankers would create a shock effect on world markets.

The expert notes that in response, Tehran could close the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20 million barrels of oil are transported daily. Such a move could result in the following complications:

  • Global oil prices could surge to $130-$150 per barrel;
  • Global logistics chains would suffer significant damage;
  • US military bases in the region would become direct targets, making them increasingly difficult to defend.

According to Dudakov, US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, missile launch sites, or IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) logistics centers would be aimed at creating internal political instability. However, heavy casualties among American military personnel could negatively impact the approval ratings of US President Donald Trump, as a large portion of the American public currently opposes further escalation.

According to The New York Times, the Pentagon has already presented US President Donald Trump with expanded military plans to weaken Iran's nuclear and missile programs. While the US administration continues to consider diplomatic avenues, it demands that Tehran completely abandon its nuclear ambitions and cease support for proxy groups.

The geopolitical tension in the Middle East remains a focal point for international security, particularly concerning the security of energy corridors. Azerbaijan, as a key energy player in the Caspian region and a neighbor to Iran, maintains a policy of regional stability and cooperation. The potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most significant threats to global energy security, as it serves as the world's most important oil transit chokepoint.
