The fleet of buses operating on the regular route line No. 49, which connects the "28 May" station of "Baku Metro" CJSC with the Sabunchu settlement (Full Secondary School No. 68) in the capital, has been fully renewed.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Azerbaijan Yerüstü Nəqliyyat Agentliyi (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the route is now operated by a new carrier, "BakuBus" LLC, following the results of a competitive tender process.

A total of 30 large-capacity buses have been deployed on the route, operating with a 5-6 minute movement interval. Payments on these vehicles are strictly cashless, with the fare set at 0.6 AZN. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the government of Azerbaijan to modernize the public transport infrastructure in Baku, ensuring higher safety standards and increased comfort for passengers commuting between the city center and suburban areas.

The Azerbaijan Yerüstü Nəqliyyat Agentliyi (AYNA) continues to implement reforms aimed at optimizing the route network and integrating modern payment systems across all public transport sectors in Azerbaijan. By transferring key routes to BakuBus, the agency aims to improve service reliability and reduce waiting times for residents of the Sabunchu district and surrounding territories.
