Zelenski Lukaşenkoya qarşı sanksiya tətbiq etdi

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree on the application of sanctions against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was published on the official website of the Ukrainian head of state.

The document notes that the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 18, 2026, "On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures," has entered into force. According to the documents attached to the decree, the sanctions are specifically directed against Alexander Lukashenko. The package of restrictions includes:

  • Freezing of economic assets;
  • Restriction of trade operations;
  • Suspension of the fulfillment of financial obligations;
  • Other special economic and restrictive measures.

The imposition of these sanctions comes amid ongoing regional geopolitical tensions. Ukraine has increasingly tightened its policy toward the Belarusian administration due to Minsk's strategic alignment with Moscow. These measures are part of a broader framework of international pressure aimed at restricting the financial and political mobility of officials deemed to be undermining regional security and Ukraine's sovereignty.

Historically, relations between Kyiv and Minsk have deteriorated significantly since 2022. While Belarus has not officially deployed its own troops into the conflict, its territory has been utilized for logistical support and military operations, leading to a series of diplomatic and economic retaliations from the Ukrainian government and its Western allies.
