Temperatures in Azerbaijan are expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius on May 12, according to the latest weather forecasts. The National Hydrometeorological Service reports that Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will experience partly cloudy and mostly dry conditions, accompanied by a mild southwest wind.
The Operative Information Center-OMM notes that temperatures in the capital will range from 15-18°C at night to 25-29°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to drop from 762 mm Hg to 756 mm Hg, with relative humidity staying between 45-55% during daylight hours. While the regions of Azerbaijan will remain largely dry, intermittent rain, lightning, and potential hail are forecast for some mountainous and foothill areas. Regional temperatures are expected to peak at 25-30°C, while mountainous zones will see highs between 13-18°C, reaching up to 25°C in specific locations.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, provides regular updates to ensure public safety and support various sectors of the economy, including agriculture and transport. Such temperature fluctuations in May are typical for Azerbaijan's diverse climate, marking the transition to the warmer summer season across the South Caucasus region.
