President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Road Traffic."

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the updated legislation stipulates that copies of decisions on administrative offenses will no longer be placed on the windshield of a vehicle if the driver is not present at the scene. This change specifically applies to administrative offenses outlined in Articles 346.1, 346.2, 346.4–346.9, 346-1.1–346-1.4, and 346-1.6–346-1.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

These amendments are part of Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to modernize the legal framework and transition toward fully digital notification systems for administrative violations. By streamlining the process, the government aims to increase the efficiency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in managing traffic violations and ensuring that vehicle owners receive official notifications through more reliable electronic channels or registered mail, rather than physical notices left on vehicles.
