The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has issued a formal advisory urging Azerbaijani citizens to refrain from traveling to the Islamic Republic of Iran due to the deteriorating security situation in the country.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the MFA has recommended that Azerbaijani citizens currently in Iran leave the country via either Azerbaijan or Turkey, regardless of their specific location within Iranian territory.

"Our citizens are also requested to strictly observe security measures, avoid mass gathering places, follow the instructions of local authorities, and regularly monitor official information sources," the MFA stated in an official release. The ministry emphasized that the safety of Azerbaijani nationals remains a top priority amid the regional tensions.

For any emergency situations, citizens are requested to contact the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Consulate General in Tabriz through the following channels:

Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran

+98 905 523 01 07

This travel warning comes amid a period of heightened regional instability and follows previous security incidents involving diplomatic missions.
