Iran opposes any temporary ceasefire in its conflict with the United States and Israel, asserting that short-term agreements only serve to prolong the crisis. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Turkish media, this statement was made by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh during a press briefing at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

"We do not accept any temporary ceasefire because this vicious cycle—first diplomacy, then a return to war—must come to an end," Khatibzadeh noted. He emphasized that current negotiations with the administration of US President Donald Trump are focused on achieving a sustainable and final resolution rather than interim measures. Regarding the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the diplomat stated that the waterway has historically remained open by Iran's decision, while characterizing the actions of the US and Israel as primary factors for escalation in the region.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where these remarks were delivered, is a high-level gathering of political leaders, diplomats, and academics aimed at addressing global and regional challenges through dialogue. Iran's stance at the forum underscores its demand for peace based on fair conditions, including respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty. Khatibzadeh concluded that if these conditions are met, Tehran can guarantee that the Strait of Hormuz will remain a corridor of peace and stability for the future.
