Russian forces have launched a series of strikes on Ukraine's Kharkiv and Sumy regions, resulting in two fatalities and 29 injuries, according to official reports.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was confirmed by Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and the National Police press service.

According to Syniehubov, Russian strikes targeting Kharkiv and 16 other settlements in the region resulted in two deaths and eight injuries. Meanwhile, in the Sumy region, 21 people sustained injuries across several affected settlements.

The most significant damage was recorded in the Belopolye community, where drone strikes injured 14 people, including nine women aged 40 to 77 and five men aged 38 to 82. Additionally, in the Sumy community, three individuals were wounded, including an eight-year-old boy. Further drone attacks in the Glukhov and Shostka communities resulted in four more injuries.

These attacks are part of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has seen intensified aerial bombardments targeting civilian infrastructure and residential areas across border regions. The Kharkiv and Sumy regions, located in northeastern Ukraine, have frequently been subjected to artillery shelling and drone strikes since the escalation of hostilities in February 2022.
