WUF13: Diplomatlar üçün rəsmi brifinq

A briefing has been held for representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan and high-level guest working groups regarding the preparations and program of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is set to begin in Baku.

The WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company reported the news, according to Operative Information Center-OMM. The briefing, organized at the Baku Olympic Stadium—the official venue for the event—was attended by approximately 150 foreign guests, including heads of diplomatic missions and visiting international officials.

During the session, diplomats were presented with the event program and briefed on protocol procedures concerning security, reception, and transportation for state and government delegations. Information was also provided regarding accreditation for press services and media organizations accompanying official delegations, as well as rules for participation in official ceremonies. Furthermore, the operational plan for Heydar Aliyev International Airport during the forum, urban transport logistics, and the schedule of primary official events were detailed.

It was emphasized that over 40,000 participants from 182 countries have registered for the forum, marking a record high in the history of the World Urban Forum. Representatives of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company confirmed that the Baku Olympic Stadium is fully prepared to host the session from May 17-22. Following the briefing, participants took part in a venue tour, inspecting zones designated for high-level guests, bilateral meetings, and media operations.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Hosting WUF13 underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a hub for international diplomacy and its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The event, held in close cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), focuses on "smart cities," innovative urban solutions, and sustainable development, following Azerbaijan's successful track record of hosting major global summits in Baku.
