More than 40,000 participants from 182 countries have registered for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is scheduled to be held in Baku. This significant turnout highlights the global importance of the upcoming event in the field of urban planning and development.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company released these figures, noting that the strong global response reflects a shared commitment to shaping safer, more inclusive, and sustainable cities. "This robust international interest underscores the importance of WUF13 as a platform for collective action. Baku is ready to welcome the world," the statement noted.

The forum will be held from May 17 to 22 in Azerbaijan, organized in close cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Established in 2001, the World Urban Forum is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization, designed to examine the most pressing issues facing the world today, including rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, and climate change. The Baku session is expected to facilitate high-level exchanges on "smart cities" and innovative urban solutions, aligning with the Republic of Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to implement sustainable development initiatives and modern infrastructure projects.
