WUF13 tədbir məkanı açıqlandı: Sahəsi 53 hektar olacaq

The venue for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held at the Baku Olympic Stadium and its surrounding areas, will cover a total operational area of 53 hectares.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was presented as President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the ongoing preparations for WUF13 at the Baku Olympic Stadium site.

According to the technical specifications, 43 hectares are designated as the primary event space, while 10 hectares will serve as the main transport terminal and parking-transfer zone. The site is organized as a unified operational system encompassing registration, session halls, exhibition spaces, media centers, transport hubs, technical support, volunteer facilities, and venue services. Dedicated zones have been allocated for high-level guests and international delegations, including spaces for bilateral meetings, receptions, and catering services.

WUF13 is scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17-22, 2026. The forum is organized in close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), focusing on international knowledge exchange regarding sustainable urbanization, "smart cities," and innovative urban solutions.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the world's premier conference on urban issues. Hosting this event underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a global hub for international diplomacy and its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The selection of Baku as the host city follows Azerbaijan's successful track record in organizing large-scale international summits and its ongoing efforts in urban reconstruction and sustainable development across the country.
