A record-breaking 32,225 participants from 180 countries have registered to attend the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) scheduled to be held in Baku. This milestone marks the highest level of interest in the history of the global event.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the update was provided to President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to the Baku Olympic Stadium to inspect the ongoing preparations for the forum. Officials noted that the scale of international participation underscores the growing global significance of urban development issues and Azerbaijan's role as a premier host for major international summits.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), is the world's premier conference on sustainable urbanization. Held biennially, the forum serves as a high-level platform for policymakers, urban planners, and civil society to address the challenges of rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, economies, and climate change. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a regional hub for international diplomacy and sustainable development initiatives.
