Azerbaijan's Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, has demanded increased sensitivity and responsiveness in handling citizen inquiries and reception processes. The directive aims to further enhance the quality of public services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", the Minister stated that the internal affairs bodies and the Internal Troops have been fulfilling their duties effectively in areas such as combating crime, maintaining public order, and protecting human rights and freedoms.
Minister Eyvazov highlighted that security is being reliably maintained during major international and national events, as well as in the liberated territories of Garabagh, where functions are being executed professionally in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
Addressing the recent collegium meeting held on July 9 at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which reviewed the operational-service activities for the first six months of 2026, the Minister emphasized that ensuring citizen satisfaction remains a key priority set by President Ilham Aliyev. He issued specific instructions to increase the effectiveness of crime prevention and investigation, ensure the compensation of material damages resulting from illegal acts, and approach citizen reception with greater care and attention.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs plays a critical role in maintaining national security and public order across Azerbaijan. Regular collegium meetings are a standard practice for the Ministry to evaluate performance, address emerging security challenges, and align operational strategies with the national development agenda set by the country's leadership.
