Bus accident in Turkey leaves 8 dead, 33 injured

A passenger bus belonging to a tourism company crashed into barriers and subsequently caught fire on the Denizli-Aydin highway in Turkey.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing TRT Haber, reports that the accident resulted in the deaths of 8 people, including the driver, while 33 others sustained injuries. The injured individuals have been transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

According to preliminary information, the bus was traveling from Izmir to Antalya with 38 passengers and 3 crew members on board.

Due to the severity of the accident, the road in the direction of Denizli was closed to traffic for approximately four hours. Normal traffic flow was restored after the wreckage of the bus was removed from the scene.

Road safety remains a significant priority in Turkey, which boasts an extensive network of highways connecting major tourism hubs. Accidents of this nature often prompt immediate investigations by local authorities to determine whether the cause was mechanical failure, driver fatigue, or other external factors.
