Security measures have been significantly tightened across educational institutions in Turkey following recent armed incidents in the Sanliurfa and Kahramanmaras regions. The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing TRT Haber, reports that the decision was jointly reached by Turkey's Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of National Education to ensure the safety of students and faculty.

Under the new regulations, at least two police officers have been deployed to every school to maintain order and provide immediate response capabilities. Authorities stated that additional security forces will be mobilized to school vicinities during class hours whenever necessary to guarantee a secure learning environment for teachers and pupils.

The heightened security protocols follow two tragic events that shocked the country. On April 14, an armed attack at a high school in the Siverek district of Sanliurfa left one person dead and 16 others injured. This was followed by another violent incident on April 15 in Kahramanmaras, where a school shooting resulted in nine fatalities and 13 injuries. These measures reflect a broader regional effort to combat school-related violence and enhance public safety protocols within the Turkish education system.
