Weather conditions in Azerbaijan have shifted, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms reported in several regions starting from the evening of September 6. While much of the country had experienced dry weather, the current atmospheric instability has brought significant precipitation to various districts.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing data from the National Hydrometeorological Service as of 10:00 a.m. on September 7, the rainfall has been widespread. Notable precipitation levels include 18 mm in Saribash (Gakh), 17 mm in Zagatala, and 8 mm in Goygol. Other areas, including Dashkasan, Gadabay, Sheki (Kishchay), and Shahbuz, also recorded significant rainfall, while lighter precipitation was observed in regions such as Jabrayil, Zardab, Tartar, Aghdam, Kalbajar, Lachin, Qubadli, Shusha, Khankendi, Khojaly, and Fuzuli.
In addition to the rainfall, strong north-westerly winds have been recorded in several areas. Maximum wind speeds reached 24 m/s in Naftalan, 23 m/s in Goranboy, and 20 m/s in Julfa. The National Hydrometeorological Service continues to monitor the situation, as forecasts indicate a sharp change in weather conditions for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, with temperatures expected to drop and further stormy winds anticipated.
