A magnitude 3.6 earthquake was recorded in the Caspian Sea on Tuesday, according to official seismic monitoring data.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center released details regarding the underwater tremors. The seismic event was documented at 10:10 local time.

According to the bureau, the earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of 56 kilometers. There were no immediate reports of the tremors being felt in coastal areas or causing any damage to offshore infrastructure.

The Caspian Sea is a seismically active region, frequently experiencing low to moderate intensity tremors due to its complex tectonic structure. Azerbaijan's Republican Seismic Survey Center continuously monitors the Caspian basin to ensure the safety of maritime operations and coastal settlements, providing real-time data to relevant state authorities.
