A 3.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Caspian Sea, according to official seismic monitoring data. The underground tremors occurred at 14:07 local time, marking another instance of seismic activity in the basin.

The Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center (RSSC) under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences reported that the earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of 5 kilometers. Operative Information Center-OMM confirmed that the Republican Seismic Survey Center is currently monitoring the situation, noting that such tremors are characteristic of the region's geological profile.

Seismologists have observed a notable increase in activity within the Caspian Sea recently. In April alone, a total of 16 earthquakes have been documented in the area. The Caspian region is situated in a seismically active zone where the movement of tectonic plates frequently results in minor to moderate tremors. While most of these events do not pose a direct threat to coastal infrastructure in Azerbaijan, they are closely analyzed by experts to track the geodynamics of the sea floor and ensure the safety of offshore energy projects.
