An individual convicted of espionage for Israel has been executed in Iran. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with the country's judiciary, reported that the executed person was identified as Kurosh Keyvani.
The court found Keyvani guilty of collaborating with the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad. He was specifically accused of transmitting sensitive photographs and classified information regarding strategic locations within Iran to Tel Aviv. The execution follows a legal process in which the judiciary maintained that the defendant's actions directly compromised national security.
The execution takes place amid long-standing tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv. The Iranian authorities have frequently issued and carried out death sentences against individuals accused of working with Mossad or facilitating Israeli intelligence operations within the country. This case highlights the ongoing shadow war between the two regional rivals, which often involves allegations of cyber warfare, assassinations, and maritime sabotage, further intensifying the geopolitical friction in the Middle East.
