An individual accused of membership in an armed group and carrying out attacks on police stations has been executed in Iran.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the Iranian judiciary's Mizan News agency released information regarding the execution. According to the report, Abduljalil Shahbakhsh was put to death after being convicted of organizing an armed rebellion and maintaining membership in an illegal armed formation.
The report further states that Shahbakhsh was apprehended during anti-terror operations conducted in the eastern regions of Iran. Judicial authorities alleged that the convict had illegally crossed the border into a neighboring country approximately six years ago to receive specialized military training before returning to engage in subversive activities against the state. Iranian officials have emphasized that operations against such armed groups have been significantly intensified in various regions across the country in recent years.
The eastern provinces of Iran, particularly those bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, have long been a focal point for security operations. This region frequently sees clashes between Iranian security forces and various insurgent groups, as well as drug trafficking syndicates. The Iranian government maintains a strict policy regarding national security threats, often utilizing capital punishment for crimes categorized as "moharebeh" (enmity against God) or armed rebellion against the state.
