Three villages in the Quba district have been renamed following the approval of new legislation. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev has signed a law regarding the renaming of certain administrative territorial units within the Quba district of Azerbaijan.
Under the new regulations, the village of Vladimirovka, located within the Vladimirovka village administrative territorial district, has been renamed Elbir. Consequently, the administrative district itself has been redesignated as the Elbir village administrative territorial district.
Furthermore, the village of Alekseyevka has been renamed Chinarli, and the village of Timiryazev has been renamed Bahrali. The Alekseyevka village administrative territorial district has been officially renamed the Chinarli village administrative territorial district.
The renaming of geographical locations is part of a broader ongoing process in Azerbaijan to restore historical toponyms and modernize administrative naming conventions across the country's regions. These legislative adjustments are typically processed through the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) before receiving final approval from the head of state to ensure official documentation aligns with the new designations.
