A suspect has been detained in Baku for committing a theft involving items valued at 6,000 manats from a private residence.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) released information regarding the incident.
According to the official statement, an unidentified individual took advantage of the homeowner's absence in a flat located in the capital's Nizami district. The perpetrator entered the premises and looted various household items with a total estimated value of 6,000 manats. Following operational-search measures, police officers identified and detained 31-year-old A. Salahov on suspicion of committing the crime.
The Nizami District Police Department is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into the facts of the case. In Azerbaijan, such offenses are typically prosecuted under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code concerning theft and property crimes, which can carry significant penalties depending on the scale of the damage and the circumstances of the entry.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to urge citizens to enhance the security of their private residences, especially during extended absences, by utilizing modern surveillance systems and reinforced locking mechanisms to prevent such incidents in the capital.
