Suspect arrested for major cable theft in Baku

A 33-year-old individual has been apprehended in Baku on suspicion of stealing electrical cables valued at 10,000 manats from a commercial facility in the Nasimi district.

This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to official reports, police received a complaint regarding the theft of high-value electrical wiring from a local property. Following an investigation, law enforcement officers identified and detained the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Tarlan Ahmadzadeh. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect sold the stolen materials to a local metal scrap collection point.

Theft of public and private infrastructure, including electrical cabling, is a criminal offense in Azerbaijan, often resulting in significant service disruptions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to conduct investigations into such property crimes to ensure public safety and the protection of urban infrastructure. The investigation into this specific case is currently ongoing.
