Windy weather conditions persist across several regions of Azerbaijan, impacting daily life and transport safety.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing data from the National Hydrometeorological Service as of 15:00 on July 30, strong gusts have been recorded in various parts of the country.

Specifically, the maximum speed of the north-west wind in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula has reached 17 m/s. Meanwhile, in Goranboy, south-west winds have been recorded at 19 m/s, and in Naftalan, wind speeds have reached 18 m/s.

The Absheron Peninsula, which includes the capital city of Baku, is frequently subject to strong winds due to its unique geographical position on the Caspian Sea coast. These weather patterns are closely monitored by the National Hydrometeorological Service, which provides regular updates to ensure public safety and to assist relevant government agencies in managing potential infrastructure risks associated with high-velocity wind events.
