Legal entities in Azerbaijan seeking to be included in the Central Bank's registry for managing crowdfunding platforms will be required to pay a state fee of 2,750 manats. This measure is part of a broader initiative to regulate and formalize the emerging alternative financing sector in the country.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this requirement is proposed as an amendment to the Law "On State Duty." The draft legislation was presented for discussion during a joint session of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) committees on Legal Policy and State Building, and Labor and Social Policy.
Crowdfunding, a method of raising capital through the collective effort of friends, family, customers, and individual investors, has gained global traction as a vital tool for startups and small businesses. By establishing a formal registry and associated fees, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan aims to enhance transparency, protect investor interests, and ensure that crowdfunding platforms operate within a secure and regulated financial framework, aligning the local market with international best practices.
