Azerbaijan has initiated the development of a unified cybersecurity platform, marking a significant step in the nation's digital defense strategy.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, in coordination with the Cybersecurity Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, has commenced preparations for the project. The implementation of this platform is estimated to cost approximately 436,000 manats.
The system is designed to be a comprehensive, multi-modular environment. It will enable agency staff to manage threat intelligence, facilitate the sharing of security incident indicators, and streamline organizational connectivity. Key functionalities include tracking security inquiries, distributing questionnaires, analyzing files within a secure "sandbox" environment, and managing vulnerability assessments and penetration testing results. Additionally, the platform will feature a centralized knowledge base to support cybersecurity operations.
This strategic initiative is aligned with the "Action Plan for 2026-2028 on Accelerating Digital Development," approved by President Ilham Aliyev on February 27, 2026. The development of such infrastructure is critical as Azerbaijan continues to expand its digital economy and integrate advanced technologies across government and private sectors, necessitating robust protection against evolving global cyber threats.
