Temperatures in parts of Azerbaijan are expected to reach as high as 40°C tomorrow, according to the latest forecast from the National Hydrometeorological Service.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that on August 24, weather conditions in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will remain dry. A south-westerly wind is expected to shift to a north-easterly breeze in the morning. Temperatures in the capital are forecast to range between 22-25°C at night and 33-38°C during the day.

Atmospheric pressure will be at 758 mm of mercury, with relative humidity levels fluctuating between 70-75% at night and 40-50% during the day.

Across the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is expected to be largely dry, though brief, isolated showers and lightning are possible in some mountainous areas during the day. Occasional fog is expected in mountainous regions during the night and morning hours, accompanied by an easterly wind.

Temperatures in the regions will reach 20-25°C at night and 35-38°C during the day, with some areas potentially seeing highs of up to 40°C. In mountainous areas, temperatures will range from 14-19°C at night to 23-28°C during the day.

Such heatwaves are common in Azerbaijan during the late summer months, prompting authorities to advise citizens to take necessary precautions, such as staying hydrated and avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours, to mitigate health risks associated with high temperatures.
