The system for paying salaries to Azerbaijani diplomats is set to undergo significant changes.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law "On Diplomatic Service," which was discussed during today's meeting of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Legal Policy and State Building.
Under the new draft law, the state salary of diplomatic service employees serving in the body determined by the relevant executive authority will comprise several components. These include the monthly official salary, an allowance for diplomatic rank, and an allowance for representation. Additionally, diplomats will receive extra pay for each hour worked when monthly working hours are increased by more than five hours due to service requirements, as well as allowances related to specific working conditions, such as harsh climates or hazardous environments, in accordance with labor legislation.
The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan regularly reviews and updates legislation governing state services to ensure they meet modern standards. These reforms aim to strengthen the social protection of Azerbaijani diplomats representing the country abroad and to enhance the overall efficiency of the nation's foreign policy apparatus.
