Police in the Absheron district have detained 122 motorcycle riders for various traffic violations during a recent enforcement operation.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the operation was conducted by the State Traffic Police Department of the Absheron District Police Office. The crackdown targeted riders who disturbed public peace, generated excessive noise, and operated vehicles without a valid driver's license.

Officials reported that during the operation, administrative protocols were issued against several other offenders: 30 drivers for illegal modifications to vehicle construction, including the installation of unauthorized lighting and exhaust systems; 11 for violating cargo transportation rules; 18 for failing to yield to pedestrians at designated crossings; and 6 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

These enforcement measures are part of a broader, ongoing effort by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to improve road safety and maintain public order across Azerbaijan. Such operations are frequently conducted in the capital, Baku, and surrounding districts to curb reckless driving behaviors, particularly during the summer months when motorcycle usage increases significantly. The authorities emphasize that strict adherence to traffic regulations is essential for ensuring the safety of both motorists and pedestrians.
